Central plant can simplify the energy architecture.
The EVOHX central concept uses an air-to-water heat pump as the plant source. Space heating/cooling and domestic hot water can be treated as separate hydraulic services, with storage and distribution selected around the building demand.
Where water distribution makes sense.
Commercial projects can benefit from central plant and zoned water distribution where multiple spaces have different loads or operating schedules.
Each project should be assessed for heat load, occupancy, hot-water demand, operating temperatures, controls, hydraulic design and available plant space.
