A complete hydronic system, not just a heat pump.
EVOHX combines an air-to-water heat pump, hydronic water circuits, indoor emitters, controls and—where required—domestic hot-water storage into one system concept.
Air outside. Water inside. Comfort where you need it.
The heat pump extracts energy from outdoor air and transfers it to water. Pumps then circulate that water through the building to the selected indoor equipment.
This approach separates the heat source from the room-side equipment. The indoor system can be selected around the application rather than forcing every room to use the same type of terminal.
Every component has a job.
A well-designed hydronic system is a collection of coordinated components, not a single appliance.
Heat pump
Air-to-water R290 technology provides the central energy source in the EVOHX system concept.
Water circuit
Pumps, pipework, valves and hydraulic components move energy around the building.
Emitters
Fan coils, radiators, towel rails and suitable underfloor systems transfer energy into the occupied spaces.
Controls & storage
Controls, sensors, buffers and DHW storage are selected according to the project requirements.
Comfort without making the heat source the centre of attention.
Hydronic heating gives the designer freedom to choose the most appropriate indoor emitter. Radiators and towel rails provide quiet heat. Fan coils add air movement and fast response. Underfloor heating is another option when incorporated into the building design.
Typical heating applications
Cooling requires different thinking
Cooling water can create condensation if room-side equipment and pipework are not designed for it. EVOHX cooling applications therefore need appropriate fan coils, condensate drainage, insulation, controls and operating strategy.
Use hydronics for cooling where the system is designed for it.
Hydronic fan coils can provide both heating and cooling. In a standard two-pipe system, the central plant changes mode as a system. More complex buildings can use four-pipe arrangements where simultaneous heating and cooling is required.
Heating, cooling and hot water can share the energy platform.
For multi-residential projects, EVOHX can be configured with a dedicated domestic hot-water circuit. The heat pump transfers heat through a heat-exchanger coil into a storage tank sized to suit the building demand.
The EVOHX project documentation identifies 300–500 litre storage as a typical range for one central arrangement, with actual storage determined by demand and system design.
